A Different Look At Submission

First of all, let me say that I received a copy of M Genisis in exchange for an honest review.
Wow! The description of this book grabbed me right away. I'm a female submissive and have read many books about female subs and their Doms/Masters, but this book is about Mary, a good southern Catholic girl, who after being dumped by her boyfriend, learns about male submission, more correctly, male chastity. Mary has a friend who has her boyfriend "locked up." She's intrigued by this idea and starts to do some research on the subject of Keyholders and Masters, or Female Dominance and Male Chastity. She starts thinking that maybe she can find a man to lock up and teach him a thing or two about pleasing a woman. Stuart comes into her life and she starts comparing him to all the other men who have eventually exited her life, thinking he will be the same as all the others. She decides that chastity and training her man is the way to go. But will he go for it?
I have to say that I like the second part of this book way better than I did the first part. The first part seemed overly descriptive with some words being very repetitive. While reading the beginning chapters, it just seemed to drag and I thought to myself, 'Where is this going?" What does any of this have to do with male chastity?' However, much of what's written in the first half is explained and brought together in the second half of the book. But let me tell you...the second half of the book makes up for the first half! I loved reading about the training. There were some very funny parts in M Genesis, as well as some things that were sad. This book is not overly full of sex scenes; there's an actual story to follow. But the sex scenes that are there are very hot and DIFFERENT! They had me squirming!
My biggest issue with this book was that it was written mostly in the narrative third person point of view. Then it would switch occasionally to dialog. I do suggest to the author that there be much more dialog in the next book. I did love the inclusion of the internet chats, though. Those or texting just seem to add a bit of "realness" to the story, and I think they are a cute addition. The book is a very good length for the money. There were some absent or misplaced commas, some wrong verb tenses, some words repeated too often in close proximity, and some misspelled and misused words. None of these things took away from the story, however. Over all, this book is well worth the read and totally different from much of the erotica out there. AND I've gotta read more! Please let there be a HEA for Mary and Stuart! Happy Ever After)

a bdsm love story with a heart and a brain

A little verbose at times, this was still very captivating and well worth the time. Quality writing in this genre is very hard to find and this is one of the best ones I have found. The story between Mary and Stuart is well-developed and there is no lack of emotional depth from Mary's side. It's a bdsm love story with a heart and a brain and not too extreme in its kink factor. Needs a little editing but I still give it five stars based on its length. Hopefully there will be a book 2 somewhere down the line.

This book is primarily designed as a textbook for a "transition" college course (the kind of course at the sophomore level that helps students make the transition from calculus and calculation intensive courses to more abstract mathematics), and it does an excellent job. While the structure of the book is quite standard for a text of this kind, students find it accessible and user-friendly. To achieve the goal of helping students grow comfortable with abstract mathematical structures, Dr. Diane Driscoll Schwartz presents at first an introduction to logic and its use in the construction of mathematical proofs. The topics included in the two chapters cover several standard proof techniques, such as the use of the contrapositive and of the principle of mathematical induction. This part is followed by the discussion of a number of mathematical topics such as sets, functions, relations, groups, modular arithmetic, combinatorics and cardinality. While the sets of exercises include a sufficient number of problems, it would be nice to see this number increased. Some of the problems are designed for group-work and provide a good starting point for classroom discussion and for "non standard" homework assignments. The book is accompanied by an Instructor's Guide, which includes suggestions for class preparation and hints for some of the problems. For those schools that provide a technology-intensive environment, the text can be use with the computer language ISETL. The software can be downloaded from the Web Sites indicated in the book.

Composer John Kander and lyricist Fred Ebb collaborated for more than forty years, longer than any such partnership in Broadway history. Together they wrote over twenty musicals. Their two most successful works, Cabaret and Chicago, had critically acclaimed Broadway revivals and were made into Oscar-winning films.

 

This book, the first study of Kander and Ebb, examines their artistic accomplishments as individuals and as a team. Drawing on personal papers and on numerous interviews, James Leve analyzes the unique nature of this collaboration. Leve discusses their contribution to the concept musical; he examines some of their most popular works including Cabaret, Chicago, and Kiss of the Spider Woman; and he reassesses their “flops” as well as their incomplete and abandoned projects.  Filled with fascinating information, the book is a resource for students of musical theater and lovers of Kander and Ebb’s songs and shows.

A treat for musical theatre lovers

Kander and Ebb's autobiography Colored Lights, while a fine glimpse into their creative process, is not nearly as informative and interesting as this book. Thoroughly analyzing and covering their work for the theatre and creating unique portraits of each man (Kander being the warm, loving one and Ebb being acerbic and brash), this is a must read for musical theatre lovers!

Kander and Ebb book a bust

When I purchased this book, I thought it would be more about the lives of the composers; more of their background, their experiences in greater detail, stories that told of their interaction with the directors and actors in their shows. Instead, this book reads like a music theory text-book; modalities, raising and lowering of scale degrees, vamp examples, etc. It took a lot of self-motivation to get from cover to cover. And the spelling errors and typos are too many to mention. Shame on the editors! Wait for a better book to come along about this fascinating team.

Well-written, well-researched and revelatory in many ways. This book is a necessity for anyone interested in Musical Theatre. A perfect example of how to examine a Musical Theatre writer's career (in this case writers'). One of the very best books I have read on Musical Theatre.

For the Soldiers

I bought this book as a request from a soldier in Afghanistan, they wanted to identify some of the stars in the sky. This one was very descriptive and pictures were good. A small way to say thank you to the USA soldiers

THE BOOK OF CONSTELLATIONS 2002
Robin Kerrod presents the constellations known to the ancient Greeks. They looked at the stars and saw mythological creatures. They imagined gods and goddesses, heroes and fantastic creatures woven around racy stories. Astronomy and mythology were one. Of the 48 constellations listed by Ptolemy in his Almagest (The Greatest), a few actually look like what they are supposed to be. Leo the lion does resemble a crouching lion, and it is believed that the Sphinx in Egypt might have been inspired by Leo. In Greek mythology, Hercules strangled the Nemean Lion and made a cloak from its skin. The Sickle forms Leo's head with the first magnitude star Regulus at its end. Cygnus the swan is another constellation that could pass for what the Greeks saw. The swan was said to be Zeus in disguise as he lusted for Leda, queen of Sparta. First magnitude Deneb is the swan's tail with Deneb, Vega and Altair forming the Summer Triangle. Kerrod maintains that the Greeks were far enough south to see Crux the Southern Cross. Crux is the smallest but brightest of the constellations and points to the south celestial pole. There are two first magnitude stars: Acrux and Bcrux. I was lucky to see Crux twice, the first time in Australia, the second time in Bolivia.
