About the Author
Dr. Wallach has been involved in biomedical research and clinical medicine for more than 50 years. He received his BS degree(agriculture) from the University of Missouri with a major in Animal Husbandry (nutrition) and a minor in field crops and soil; D.V.M. (doctorate in veterinary medicine) from the University of Missouri; three year post doctoral fellowship (comparative pathology/medicine) from Washington University, St Loius Missouri. He is a Naturopathic Physician licence in California and Oregon. Dr. Ma Lan was educated in The Peoples Republic of China received her MD from Beijing Medical University and was staff surgeon at the Canton Air Force Hospital. She received her MS (Master of Science) in transplantation immunology from Zhongshan Medical University. He was an exchange scholar in microsurgery at Harvard School of Medicine, Boston,MA; a research fellow in laser microsurgery at St. Joseph's Hospital, Houston, TX; the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, the Medical College of Winsconsin and the Department of Pharmacology, University of California San Diego CA.

AWESOME BOOK for those who live a holistic lifestyle!

I have been absolutely glued to this book since it arrived - when my husband hasn't snuck off with it, that is LOL ;-) Dr. Wallach does an excellent job of documenting WHY the Western Medical System has FAILED US and exactly what we need to do to generally live a longer, healthier life. Having personally followed much of the advice presented in this book during the past couple years, I can personally say I feel healthier and more vibrant (when NOT on certain pharmaceutical drugs!) Dr. Wallach doesn't come right out and say "take ownership of your own health", but he does give you the tools within this book to generally live a longer, fuller, more productive life.

As Dr. Wallach says, "Dead Doctors Don't Lie". I was stunned to learn the typical family practitioner dies at age 56 - outlived by the typical couch potato. I was absolutely stunned to learn that the director of a cardiac program at a local hospital DIED at a very young age literally while I was in the midst of treatment at the same facility. I never met this doctor since my need for a cardiologist was evident just a few days after this particular cardiologist had passed away - but it was sure an eye opener to realize this situation and the doctors co-workers mourning was taking place while I was being treated at their facility (inpatient for over a week). Now, 17 years later, some things that I witnessed and overheard finally make sense! All thanks to this text.

A few years ago a friend had made reference to a doctor who had done autopsies on a large number of exotic animals who had died in captivity at various zoos so I had searched long and hard to find out who this researcher was... and low and behold I stumbled into him as the author of this very informative book.

I really enjoyed reading about Dr. Wallach's childhood, his experiences working at the St. Louis Zoo and other facilities around the world. Dr. Wallach has led a fascinating life, some of which he has documented in this book.

Another of Dr. Wallach's Books that Make One Say Hmmmmm.

As a fan of Dr. Wallach's I may be biased in my reviews of the books that he writes. But as a farmer, I do know that he is right in saying the soil is lacking in the minerals necessary to create food that has the minerals necessary to procure a healthy life.

While my husband and I are wonderful stewards of the land and strive to rotate crops, add nutrients to the soil, plant crops that replenish, not strip, and generally produce the best grains possible, I do not believe that all the vitamins and minerals that we need to be optimally healthy. Why else would the producers of cows, chickens, pigs, etc supplement the foods that they eat every day?

We need suplementation too. I can attest that I feel better overall when I am taking my vitamins and minerals religiously. And I feel crappy when I am not. I feel better when I add eating healthy whole foods to my supplements and even worse when I let my diet slide and skip my supplements.

My biggest hope is that I can start my young children on healthy diets with adequate supplements. I would love to see what a lifetime of good habits can do.

A classic,read for everyone concerned about not only living to our genetic potential but doing so with full vitality and vigor. It all makes so much sense; the mineral content of our diets makes all the difference. If we cannot get the minerals we need from the foods we eat because they are not in the soil the plants were grown in, then we must add with high quality, highly absorbable supplements to our diets.

Used this book quite a bit for review, I did like it and I think it's a good thing to include in your review ahead of the exam. The questions and explanations are short and to the point, good for quick review.

The online version of book allows you to answer questions and get instant feedback without having to waste time flipping through pages to find the right answer. This saves lots of time and allows more progress in each study session. Also, the questions themselves seem right on target with PRITE questions so that this book should be quite helpful with the boards themselves.

Excellent for board prep!

This book, in my opinion, is a must have for psychiatry board preparation! The questions are very board-like and it also comes with a CD to practice the new vignette style questions. I passed my boards with no issues the first try and now 'm passing this on to a colleague who will be taking boards next year before the change to DSM 5.

Great Book Written by a Great Guide

Amazing book written by an extent guide.

I am quite biased because I know this guy he taught me to climb and he is all about safety. So I know the routs he suggests are safe.

As far as I know he actually made and bolted in most if not all of these climbs and many others in his guide books including over half of Utah's large cotton wood canyon.

If you looking for a fantastic and knowledgeable coach/teacher in Utah, for any level from beginner to advanced look Tony up he has been climbing for 40 years. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my daughters life.
